Dr. Malika Richards is a professor of management at Penn State Berks. She obtained the Ph.D. in International Business and Strategic Management from the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.

Prior to graduate studies, Dr. Richards studied in Japan and Taiwan, and worked in Thailand for five years. In 2010, she was a Fulbright Scholar at Soochow University, Taiwan. Subsequently, she was invited back to Soochow University three times as a visiting professor, at one point receiving among the top ten percent in teaching evaluations. In 2013, she was a visiting professor at National Chengchi University, Taiwan.

Dr. Richards' research interests are the impact of culture on international management and multinational firm strategy. Her research has been published in journals such as the Journal of International Management, International Business Review, Journal of Management, and the Journal of International Business Studies. She has won several Best Reviewer awards from the Academy of Management (AOM) and the Academy of International Business (AIB).

Dr. Richards has served her professional organizations over most of her career. She has served over a decade in the role of treasurer to the International Management division of the Academy of Management. This is one of the largest divisions in the Academy. In 2010, she joined the board of the Women in the Academy of International Business (WAIB), and from 2017–19, she served as WAIB President. She has served as track-chair for the Academy of International Business - U.S. Southeast Chapter (AIB-SE) several times, joined the AIB-SE board in 2019, and served as the 2024 Chapter Chair, concluding her term as Immediate-Past Chapter Chair in 2025. Dr. Richards was elected to join the AIB-SE Fellows in 2024.
